SWAZILAND MPS TOLD ‘GET THE SNIP’

The members of the members of parliament in Swaziland must be circumcised, Barnabas Dlamini, the kingdom’s illegally-appointed Prime Minister has announced.

Dlamini wants a check made on all male MPs to make sure they have had the snip.

This madness is part of Dlamini’s ‘action plan’ in response to the fact that Swaziland has the highest level of HIV infection in the world.

I’ve lost count of the number of times people who should know better have advocated circumcision as a prevention for HIV. In February 2010 the Times of Swaziland reported that all new-born babies should have the snip because this would stop the spread of HIV at some unspecified time in the future.

There is no reliable evidence that circumcision prevents HIV and as one reader pointed out on the Times website, the HIV rate amongst circumcised Swazi men is 21.8 percent, but only 19.5 percent amongst Swazi men who are not circumcised.

I hope the Swaziland MPs tell Dlamini where to get off, but somehow I doubt they will. So sometime in the near future we should expect to see all male MPs in Swaziland stood to attention in a row with their pants round their ankles so the bogus doctor Dlamini can inspect their (lack of) manhood.
